It’s almost been a month since our move, but better late than never! Sophia (5 years-old), and Noah (7 months-old), posed for me today in what was one of the most humid days I’ve experienced! The grass was so deep the blanket we brought sunk constantly, and I’m sure I was attacked by ants while laying on the floor taking the pictures.

But it’s all part of the job, and it couldn’t be more worth it! I love my children, and I adore how Sophia protects and looks after her little brother while she smiles and checks that no ants or bugs are crawling on his legs. :)

These pictures were taken around our beautiful new neighborhood, and I’m sure I’ll be doing rounds in many other wonderful places I’ve seen here! Jupiter is beautiful, and while I miss Tampa dearly, I’m happy with this new beginnings for our family.

By the time we thought about watching the moon this past Saturday, it was a bit late, but we made it to the beach anyway, and I was able to capture some cool shots! My favorite is the one of my parents watching it through the trees :)

Meet baby girl, Gemma. She’s the daughter of two of our greatest friends, Garrett and Nicole. It took me longer than usual to post this photos, but as soon as my internet and computer were hooked up at our new place, I knew the first thing to do was start off my new location with a very special – and favorite – family.

Love :)

Let me introduce you to this little angel: Logan. If there is one reason I love what I do, is for the chance to photograph a little piece of life that is a newborn baby… it’s such a blessing, a miracle and a wonder. Your heart can’t help but swell with love!

Congratulations Jackie, Ben and Jaden for this beautiful addition to your family.

So it looks like this week is a week of birthday parties! This time it’s my own little girl’s. We had so much fun planning her party, and it was specially sweet how she is now able to help and decide some things for herself. We made it our project to make cake pops… and I can’t lie, I was addicted to making them! It was fun, and easy for her to help decorate. Since this is her last year at Bayshore Baptist Preschool (She’ll be starting Kindergarten in August), and her last party in Tampa, we were so happy to have most of her classmates, and friends come and celebrate with her. The only sad part is that between all the things I had to do, i did not take a picture with her! It makes me a bit sad, but that’s how it is when you’re the mom AND the photographer!

It was a beautiful day at Corona Park, and between a merry go round, a piñata, and games, I’m sure she will remember her 5th year celebration very fondly – at least, I will!

A few weekends ago I photographed a super cute birthday party. You seriously cant go wrong with a party at Gymboree where the staff take care of the little guests’ entertainment. It’s awesome to see all the smiling, amused faces, while the bubbles are blown, or the parachute is unfolded. Little Tyler and his sister Summer had a beautiful day, and I am so thankful I got to capture the event for them! Here are some images of the day:

About a month ago it dawn on me that my daughter would turn five… half a decade… a lifetime. I cannot remember my life before her, and I cannot imagine my life without her. It has definitely been the most important lesson of my existence – both her and her baby brother – but with Sophia, I became a mom. I am the person she depends entirely from, and the one whom she calls an average of one hundred times… per day. I hear “mommy” when I wake up, and “Mommy” when I close her door at night. And that simple word, “mommy”, means the world to me.

She’s Five years old today, and this realization makes me so happy and proud. She’s a girl who knows what she wants, and who’s personality is strong and healthy. She pushes my buttons constantly, and I know this only makes me a better woman… a better mom. she’s smart, she’s stubborn, she’s the girl i love with all her wonders and imperfections.

As each year goes by, I am so glad I chose to raise her, because she’s growing fast, but I’ve lived each second with her.

My sweet Sophia challenges me and teaches me that the value of our years lies with our families. I have my own family, and I am humbled by this blessing.

I can’t express the amount of love I feel in my heart for my daughter, and I can’t keep her from growing up, but I can look through my albums of photos and see a happy child that has brought my husband and I the life we could’ve only dreamed of.

This family is so special to me; they are my next door neighbors, and such a wonderful family! I am so proud to have photograph them since little Jaden was only a baby, and now they are expecting another little boy. He should be making his way next week, so I will be posting his newborn photos very soon… for now, I leave you with this awesome maternity and family photos we did this past weekend.

Thank you Jackie, Ben and Jaden for being the BEST neighbors, and for being great friends. You will always be remembered and held close to our hearts.

2012 Week Project – Week 8

February 27, 2012

Ladybug

Sophia was the sweetest thing I’ve seen when we went to do her photos last week. The most adorable thing was when we found a bunch of ladybugs in the bushes. She was so gentle and absolutely excited to take the little bugs in her hand and take tens of photos. So sweet!

2012 Week Project – Week 7

February 17, 2012

Mommy and Baby

This week Noah is 4 months old. I had been wanting some photos of him and I, because that is one of the negative sides of being a photographer: I am rarely in any of my photos!

I wanted some casual shots of him and me, and although very tough to achieve, I had a few that I really fell in love with!

I’m very happy with the final result.  He’s so sweet and patient. He did the entire hour with me, without crying or fuzzing. He’s such a good, little baby!
